Today I’m going to share 4 fast pointers for how to clean up a waste disposal unit.
Simply recently my buddy asked how he might stop the smelly odor originating from his disposal. If you’re having the very same issue as him then this video might assist.
1. The very first approach is to cut a lemon in half then slice it into small half-moon areas. You can then press the lemons into the disposal, switch on the faucet (warm water), and run the disposal for 1 minute. The lemons are acidic (cleansing action) and will offer the disposal great citrusy odor. Plus, this is a great natural approach.
2. The 2nd approach is to make vinegar ice and after that toss the ice cubes into the disposal, switch on the water (warm), and run the disposal for 1 minute. Vinegar is acidic and will assist clean up the disposal while the ice will assist abrade the blades and perhaps hone them (I have my doubts about that last point however it deserves attempting).
3. The 3rd approach is to put 1/2 cup of baking soda into the disposal, let it sit for 1 hour, then include 1 cup of vinegar (you’ll see the volcano response), run the faucet (warm water), and run the disposal for 1 minute. Sodium bicarbonate will soak up the odor and the vinegar will neutralize/eliminate any staying smells.
4. The 4th approach is to put 2-3 tablespoons of Borax into the disposal, wait 15 minutes, run the faucet (warm to warm water), then run the disposal for 1 minute. There are instructions ideal on the Borax box for cleaning up the disposal by doing this.

Oh, and do not make the vinegar ice then forget to inform your household. They will not like vinegar ice, haha!
