Tools List for Identifying a Gurgling Sink:
Monkey wrench
Wish list:
PVC pipelines
Actions:
1. If a sink is gurgling after the toilet flushes, there’s most likely a great chance the drain is not aerated appropriately.
2. Change whatever pipeline fitting is at the drain past the P trap with a T fitting. Run pipeline from the bottom of the T to the primary drain line and after that run pipeline from the top of the T to the vent system of your house. This might need running a pipeline to the roofing if there isn’t a vent system.
3. In some locations, code might allow a retrofitted mechanical vent that can be put on a pipeline on top of the T rather of running it to the roofing or vent system.
Resources:
Richard showed a PVC P-trap with a mechanical vent that can be utilized where traditional venting is not a choice. These and the products needed to install them can be discovered in the house centers and pipes supply shops.
